To advance international education and deepen transnational cooperation and exchanges in the field of architecture, from May 22 to 23, 2026, the School of Architecture at Inner Mongolia University of Technology invited a team of experts from Tashkent University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent to visit, successfully hosting the China-Uzbekistan Architecture Discipline Exchange Forum and a series of international academic lecture activities.
On the afternoon of May 22, the China-Uzbekistan Architecture Discipline Exchange Forum officially commenced. Xu Guoqiang, Dean of the School of Architecture, extended a warm welcome to the visiting Uzbek experts, briefly introduced the school’s educational characteristics, discipline development, research directions, and talent cultivation overview, and expounded on the school's open education development philosophy, looking forward to building a cooperative platform and launching deep, multi-field collaborations with the Uzbek universities.
Yokubov Bakhtiyor, Vice Rector of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, introduced his university's educational and disciplinary development, highly recognized our school's achievements, and proposed a collaborative framework featuring regularized academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and talent mobility. Subsequently, experts from the three universities engaged in concentrated discussions regarding joint scientific research, faculty and student exchange visits, and academic co-building, clarifying the preliminary directions for cooperation and the implementation plans moving forward.
During the forum, the school held an appointment ceremony for an adjunct professor, appointing Uzbek expert Dinara Nazar as an adjunct professor of the school to enrich the international faculty strength and provide solid support for subsequent international cooperation and academic teaching.
Following the meeting, the Uzbek experts visited the school's teaching and research facilities on-site to gain a deeper understanding of its educational conditions and scientific innovation achievements. After the tour, the research teams from the three universities engaged in in-depth, group-based discussions, precisely aligning their goals on research directions such as sustainable architecture and regional construction technologies, and officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent to cement the consensus for cooperation and establish a long-term, stable mechanism for disciplinary collaboration.
On May 23, Professor Dinara Nazar from Tashkent University of Architecture and Civil Engineering delivered a special academic lecture. Titled "Traditional Ventilation Systems in Sustainable Architecture," the report integrated the characteristics of regional architecture in Central Asia to explain the structural principles of traditional ventilation technologies and their application pathways in modern low-carbon buildings, sharing cutting-edge research findings. The lecture topic aligned closely with current hotspots in green building research, effectively broadening the academic horizons of both faculty and students.
This series of exchange activities has effectively built a bridge of communication for the architecture discipline between China and Uzbekistan, serving as an important initiative for the school to advance its international development. In the future, the School of Architecture will continue to deepen cooperation with Uzbek universities, implement all agreed cooperative initiatives, integrate international academic concepts, elevate scientific research standards alongside the quality of international talent cultivation, and propel the specialized, high-quality development of the school's architecture discipline.
